KIRKCALDY CIVIC SOCIETY
At 2pm on Sunday 19th June 2011 KCS held the annual barbeque in the grounds of historic Ravenscraig Castle.
We were blessed with a beautiful sunny afternoon.
Our drummer, Russell Wilson, led our special visitors 'Mary, Queen of Scots' and
her husband the ‘Earl of Bothwell’ over the wooden bridge
into the castle grounds
where they were greeted by Mrs Ann Watters.

Medieval Methil entertained the crowd with exciting displays, storytelling etc. People could find out about everyday life in Medieval times at the various stalls.

Storytelling

People were told about medieval warfare and saw Knights fighting for their honour
A raffle was held towards the end of the event and the vote of thanks given by Mrs Watters..
It is through having an event such as the bbq that KCS hope to encourage an interest in the castle, its history and preservation. We hope that everyone who attended this years event had a great time and will return next year!
