KIRKCALDY CIVIC SOCIETY
An Exchange of Information afternoon is held every year in the Linktown Church hall, Nicol Street ,on a Sunday afternoon from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.
The event gives us the opportunity to let people see what we have in our archives and, hopefully, add to the information we have gathered over the years. We hope that they will bring along their postcards, photos, newspaper clippings, maps, drawings etc.of Kirkcaldy to show us.
During the past few years we have started using the smaller church hall for running 'slideshows' throughout the afternoon. The shows are 'drop-in' so people can come and go as they please.
We always have KCS books, badges, tea towels etc. for sale at the bookstall and sometimes other groups such as Fife Mining Heritage set up a stall..
This informal event is always a great chance to have a chat with people over a cup of tea and many interesting pieces of information have come to light during these conversations in the past.
If you are new to Kirkcaldy it is a good way to find out something about the town.
Light refreshments are available throughout the afternoon.
