Kirkcaldy Links Market is famous worldwide.
The first official market took place in 1305 but it was a traders market with little entertainment, perhaps musicians and jugglers or acrobats.
The original site of the market was in Links Street but it eventually moved the short distance onto the Esplanade and has set up at that location ever since.
