KCS invited Gordon Oswald to unveil  a plaque at what is now Dunnikier House Hotel.

Gordon is the son of Geoffrey Oswald who was directly related to the family which built Dunnikier House in 1793.

The society had contacted the owners of the hotel who kindly agreed to assist in the purchase of the plaque and place it above the main entrance.

The Oswald family had originally lived in Path House, in Nether Street (now a doctor’s surgery), since 1702 before building Dunnikier House.

Seven generations of the family lived in Dunnikier House until it was sold to Kirkcaldy Town Council.

The interior of the hotel has beautifully carved fireplaces and other ornate features.

We would like to thank the hotel staff for providing tea, coffee and delicious home made biscuits for the group.
