Dr. Marianne Gilchrist
Major Pitcairn's plaque is unveiled

Site of old St. Serf’s Manse:

 

Birthplace of John Pitcairn, 1722 - 75, Major of Marines,

who tried to prevent the outbreak of war at Lexington

and was mortally wounded at Breed’s or Bunker Hill.

He is buried in Christ Church Boston, Massachusetts.

 

Erected by Kirkcaldy Civic Society and Dysart Trust
